Images_Archiver
Coming soon!
This program will catalogue your images directory, allowing you to omit it from
the archive. The idea here is that the largest part of your database is probably the Images
directory. We always keep the copies of the original images CDs. So, unless you've updated
the Tiffs, why include them in your backup?
Our procedure for backup is: (This only works because we have copies of all tiffs and do not change anything!)
- Use this program to catalogue the images directory and then delete everything in the
Images directory except for this file.
- Now with everything MUCH smaller, archive the case in the Case Data directory and also
archive the ci file in Cases. Burn this to either a CD or DVD.
- When I'm asked to re-create the case, I restore the Case Data and Cases information,
then I run a separate process against the catalogue file restoring the tiff and txt files.
